Capitals Outsider’s Best Posts of 2012
Though it hardly feels like it at this point, we did watch the NHL this past year. Unfortunately, 2012 will ultimately be remembered for little more than the return of Dale Hunter (which actually happened in 2011), Joel Ward‘s heroics against Boston, Braden Holtby being awesome, and… the lockout. While we at Capitals Outsider continue to keep a positive outlook for 2013, we also take a moment to reflect on what we witnessed and reported in 2012…

Due to the lockout, the 2012 Cappie Awards, where we hand out fake awards to Caps bloggers, are cancelled (check out the awards from last season). Too many Caps bloggers moved on or stopped posting since the lockout. Instead, we extend thanks to our colleagues at Japers’ Rink and the Washington Post for continued support. We thank the teams we cover: The South Carolina Stingrays in the early part of 2012, the Reading Royals, the Hershey Bears, and the Washington Capitals. Most importantly, we thank our readers. Here’s to NHL hockey in 2013. Happy New Year.
