The Capitals took photos for the fifth annual dog calendar on Monday, where they once again partnered with Homeward Trails Animal Rescue. This year, the players got to showcase their ‘personal style,’ hence the suits and Braden Holtby once again out-dressing everyone.

Homeward Trails brought 23 dogs to the show, not including the Caps’ own dogs. John Carlson even fostered, then adopted one of the Homeward Trail dogs, Bronco. Alex Ovechkin brought his lab, Blake, to the photo shoot. According to Homeward Trails, Philipp Grubauer and Tom Wilson are both interested in fostering a dog.

The dog calendar will be on sale soon at Capital One Arena. All proceeds go to Homeward Trails Animal Rescue. Over the years, it’s raised nearly $200,000. “Every year, we’re printing more calendars, because they sell out quicker than the year before,” said Sue Bell from Homeward Trails. “The money goes to support our rescue efforts on the dogs’ side, specifically it helps us take in special needs dogs. The calendar last year helped us take in 272 dogs that had treatable illnesses and injuries.”
