The Laughlin Family Foundation, which raises money to help fight rare cancers, hosted its fourth annual celebrity golf tournament Monday. Participants included the one and only Craig Laughlin, his NBC Sports Washington colleagues Joe Beninati, Alan May, Tarik el-Bashir, Chris Miller and Alexa Landestoy, and many Caps alumni and coaches: Charlie Lindgren, Rod Langway, Karl Alzner, Braden Holtby, Olie Kolzig, Peter Bondra, Brent Johnson, Devante Smith-Pelly, Ken Sabourin, Spencer Carbery, Kirk Muller, Scott Allen, Emily Engel-Natzke, Brett Leonhardt, Mitch Love, game-day personalities Wes Johnson, Bob McDonald and Caleb Green, A couple of other notable people there were former baseball player Brett Cecil, and former Flyers pugilist Dave Brown.

Notably missing was Caps radio voice John Walton, who was recently diagnosed with colon cancer. However, he is expected to return to the radio booth and start calling games again.

The all-day event at Crofton Country Club featured plenty of laughs, drinks, a marshmallow-driving contest, and bogies, but most importantly added more than thousands of dollars to help fight rare cancers.

The Laughlin Family Foundation began in 2018 after Laughlin’s wife, Linda, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. In the past few years, they’ve raised funds with Laughlin-branded beerswinevodka, and whiskey.
