Meet Caps Bobblehead Collector Peter

Caps Outsider is obviously big into bobbleheads, and today we’d like to feature the collection of one of our readers, Peter from Arlington.

He’s been going to games for 26 years, but only started collecting bobbleheads during the Inova Blood Drives.

He has all of the giveaway bobbleheads and retail ones, except for a couple of the three-foot Alex Ovechkin bobbleheads. He also wants to get his hands on the Ted Leonsis two-sided bobblehead, but we believe Uncle Ted had that made for himself.

Peter’s favorite bobbleheads are the prototypes that he picked up along the way, including his “Men of Ice” blue and gold capitals bobblehead prototype.

From the blood drives, he likes the John Carlson sliding fist pump, and likes the Braden Holtby water bottle from the stadium giveaways. Of the retail ones, he likes the white jersey Stanley Cup ones, and the ones with the counters.

“I really like the Ovi and slapshot big heads,” he said. “But I find myself partial to the Winter Classic and all-star minis. They are unique, rare, and really well done. It is hard to pick just one favorite though (probably easier to pick bad ones – there are a few really bad Ovi ones). This is not only because bobbleheads are just fun, but they are a history of the popular players on the Capitals, the uniforms they wore, and the celebrations of some of the team and individual accomplishments of the team I love to follow.
