Halpern Hooks Up Media With Doughnuts

Former Capitals captain Jeff Halpern returned to Verizon Center on Monday, bringing doughnuts to his old press friends from Washington and New York. Halpern, who had been traded from the Rangers to Montreal this season, and had played for the Capitals last season, is one of the owners of the newly-opened Astro Doughnuts on G Street, near Metro Center. Halpern’s Canadiens lost in the first round to the Senators in 5 games. Halpern, 37, is now an unrestricted free agent.
