The Pioneers Drop the Ceremonial Puck

Yvon Labre, Dennis Maruk, Paul Mulvey and Errol Rausse Honored Before Game

One of the things I love about the Caps’ 50th anniversary season is that just about every home game has something unique going on to make it special. On Friday against the Penguins, Caps alumni Yvon Labre, Dennis Maruk, Paul Mulvey and Errol Rausse came to wave at the crowd before the game and drop the ceremonial puck, as Caps captain Alex Ovechkin and Penguins captain Sidney Crosby stood by.

The Caps will have more of these in future games with players of other eras, this one representing the 1974-1982 seasons.

Later, Maruk beat the Top Shelf Challenge pretty easily. I’ve always wondered how a professional hockey player would do against that game. Not bad for a 68 year old.
