Whose Commercials Are Funnier? Bruce or Ovie’s?

Bruce Boudreau says “Oh shit” when asked about the recent commercials.

After Friday’s 5-3 victory against Columbus, Coach Bruce Boudreau was asked about the recent commercials featuring, separately, Boudreau and Alex Ovechkin.

“Oh shit,” Boudreau said, the first time I have heard him swear at a press conference (and proving once and for all that Matt Bradley was joking about hockey players not cursing).

But whose commercials are funnier? “Alex does everything better than me,” Boudreau said.

Sorry, coach. Alex is indeed funny, but Boudreau’s most recent commercials are superior to Ovechkin’s. Alex gets laughs from his broken English, Alfred E. Newman smile, and goofy, fun-loving personality, like the crazy exchange student in fifth grade. The 55-year-old coach making bird calls (which is better than last year’s “You had me at no problem” catchphrase) and dancing in a track suit at the Improv with Ryan Zimmerman outdoes Alex’s lame Capital One commercial with Donovan McNabb.

But forget what I think, let’s put this to a vote.
