T.J. Oshie Drinks Beer Through Jersey Again At Craig Laughlin’s Charity Event

The Laughlin Family Foundation Raises Thousands More to Fight Rare Cancers

Capitals play-by-play man Craig Laughlin has held several charity events over the years with the Laughlin Family Foundation, which raises money to fight rare cancer. This year, at the Blackwall Barn and Lodge in Gambrills, Md., current Caps T.J. Oshie and Tom Wilson showed up to join in on the cause. The two re-enacted their pre-game shenanigans where one hits the other with the stick, and Oshie performed the stunt of the night, drinking a beer through his jersey, just as he did after the Caps won the Stanley Cup in 2018.

The foundation, which has raised about a half million dollars since Linda Laughlin, Craig’s wife, was diagnosed with cancer back in 2018, raised thousands more on Friday. Attendees included former Washington Bullet Harvey Grant, former Caps Alan May, Peter Bondra and Ken Sabourin, Caps play-by-play man Joe Beninati, Caps radio voice John Walton, Caps PA man Wes Johnson, and Caps pre and postgame hostess Alexa Landestoy.

The foundation auctioned off various items, including a suitcase full of Joe B. and Locker’s Broadcast Blend wine, several paintings, and plenty of autographed materials, including jerseys signed by Wayne Gretzky and Alex Ovechkin.
