Anthony Mantha Scores in First Game With Caps

via the Caps

Anthony Mantha coming to Washington, in a trade for Jakub Vrana and Richard Panik to Detroit on Monday, shocked many Caps fans. But if there was any question whether he would fit into an already-stacked lineup, he got off to a good start on Tuesday as he scored a goal and added an assist against Philadelphia. The Caps saved the pucks for him after each goal. He was also named the second star of the game, and got the Cobra Kai headband of the game, along with John Carlson.

The assist was the 100th of his career, and the goal was his 96th. Mantha is the 393rd Capital to score a goal for the team (full database here).
