Caps Honor Alex Ovechkin for 700th Goal

The Caps honored Alex Ovechkin on Tuesday for scoring his 700th goal, presenting him with a commemorative Tiffany crystal from the NHL, and a Hublot titanium watch. A tribute video played, featuring messages from John Carlson, Nick Backstrom, Mike Gartner, Phil Esposito, Marcel Dionne, Brett Hull, Jaromir Jagr, Mark Howe (on behalf of his father, Gordie Howe), Wayne Gretzky, Ovi’s parents, his dog Blake, and his son Sergei. In fact, Sergei got to join his parents for the ceremony. Less than two minutes into the game, Ovechkin scored his 701st.
