Capitals Salute Kobe Bryant

(Caps Outsider)

Like the rest of the sports world, the Washington Capitals held a moment of silence – 8 seconds – for Kobe Bryant, who was killed, along with his daughter, Gianna, in a helicopter accident this past weekend.

Alex Ovechkin wore the number 24 during warm-ups to salute Bryant, who wore both no. 8 and 24 during his career.

During the moment of silence, one person sounded like he shouted ‘rapist!’ toward the end, and some folks booed upon hearing it.
