Alex Ovechkin and Connor McMichael Each Score Twice

The Capitals looked red hot on Tuesday night as they beat the New Jersey Devils, 6-2, at Capital One Arena.

Alex Ovechkin scored two goals, including a power play goal in the final minute of the contest, to give him 16 tallies on the season and 838 total goals in his career.

This also marks the ninth straight game where Ovechkin has recorded a point, including eight goals in his last eight.

Connor McMichael also finished with two tallies, including the first goal of the game 39 seconds in, and at 4:17 into the second period.

Entering the third with the score 2-1, the Caps went on a 4-1 run, including three consecutive goals scored by Dylan Strome, Ovechkin, and Michael Sgarbossa. The last Ovechkin tally came after a Devils score, while Strome’s goal now gives him a team-leading 21 total on the season.

Charlie Lindgren notched 37 saves in net to give him his tenth win of the year.

With the victory, the Capitals improve to 25-21-8, remaining in sixth place in the Metropolitan Division.
