Comcast SportsNet’s Craig Laughlin, Joe Beninati and Al Koken received an Emmy award for ‘Sporting Event/Game/ – Live Unedited – Capitals Game 7 Win,’ for their work in the 2015 win against the Islanders. Beninati also won one for being the best play-by-play guy in the history of the universe, or something.
“Incredibly proud of my dad for winning an Emmy for best Sports Live Broadcast,” daughter Courtney Laughlin wrote. She was also nominated, along with Alan May, Brent Johnson, Al Koken, Sebastian Salazar and others for Capitals Pregame Live, but didn’t take that trophy.
The awards, via the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences – National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter – were handed out at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront on Saturday.

CSN’s Michael Jenkins, of course, also won some of these. No one really knows for what, but he definitely deserved it.
