First Blood Drive of the Season, and Grubauer Bobblehead!

(Caps Outsider)

UPDATE: The Philipp Grubauer bobbleheads aren’t available yet. Folks who donated will get one later.

With a season that has already seen its ups and downs, the Caps and their fans could use a little pick-me-up. Somewhat unexpectedly, the Capitals released that they would be sponsoring yet another Inova Blood Donor Services blood drive. The notice came a bit for most fans as the date of the drive is only ten days away from today, October 25th. So cancel your plans and make your way up to Kettler for an hour or so.

The bobblehead given to fans will be of Capitals backup goaltender, and assumed Vegas Golden Knights starter that never was, Philipp Grubauer.

Grubauer  has seen himself as a bobblehead before but not in a Caps sweater. The Bears faced the Rochester Americans in the Giant Center on January 4th, 2014 and the first 5000 fans to enter the arena that night were handed a Grubauer bobblehead.

However, Grubi hasn’t gotten to show of his new Caps threads, which he deserves to after the season he put up last year, so this is again a must have for any bobblehead collector. While we wait for images of the new bobblehed to be released, check out images of Grubi’s Hershey bobblehead here!

The blood drive will take place November 4th from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Kettler Capitals Iceplex in Arlington, Va. You can sign up by calling 1-866-BLOODSAVES (1-866-256-6372) or by signing up online on the Inova Blood Donor Services website.
