Caps Outsider wasn’t there to cover this, unfortunately, but got ahold of plenty of photos and video (to come) of Alex Ovechkin‘s ‘Ride of Fame‘ induction ceremony on Tuesday. He was the second D.C. athlete to be inducted, joining former Washington Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann.

What’s the Ride of Fame? This:

The Ride of Fame… is a worldwide continuing series of mobile monuments dedicated to public figures who highlight and promote their respective cities with their business and personal endeavors.  Each honoree is bestowed with a double-decker bus designated with a permanent “Immortal”, “IT” and “Imminent” classification artwork, and a personal seat with a private message to the world.  Previous honorees included MLB Future Hall of Famer Mariano Rivera, Actor Sir Patrick Stewart, multi-Grammy Award Winner LLCOOLJ and others.
