John Erskine vs. Arron Asham, aka the Revenge for Beagle

Despite everything that’s happened recently, the Capitals did not forget about Pittsburgh’s Arron Asham and his knock-out punch of Jay Beagle back in October. In the first period, defenseman John Erskine squared up with Asham, knocking him to the ice.

The Asham seemed genuinely remorseful for both hurting Beagle and his antics afterward, the revenge fight was inevitable because it’s part of the Code. If Asham didn’t fight, the Caps likely would’ve targeted Sidney Crosby. Asham did the right thing and took his medicine.
