Who Will Be Capitals’ Captain?

Posted December 28, 2009

ClarkWith the trade of Chris Clark, the Capitals now have a vacancy at the Captain position. With the trade happening just before game time, no player wore the Captain’s “C” this evening. Three players skated with the Alternate Captain “A”; Alex Ovechkin, Mike Knuble, and Brendan Morrison. Considering those roles, those three would have to be the leading candidates for the position, however don’t expect a selection to come immediately. When we asked Coach Boudreau about the situation after the game, he informed us that they would take their time, and be sure to make the right choice :

Looking down the roster, we’d also consider Brooks Laich and Matt Bradley to be possible Captain material. What do you think?
