Arlington, VA — The Washington Capitals held the Rising Stars Academy Clinic on Saturday.

Caps Pierre-Luc Dubois, Jakob Chychrun and Lars Eller joined lead Rising Stars instructor Bryan King and more than 25 high school students from underrepresented groups at Medstar Capitals Iceplex for a skill development session.

High school hockey players also heard a panel on nutrition lead by Giant’s Healthy Living Team. Participants and players took to the ice wearing the Washington Capitals’ 2024-25 Celebrating Black History specialty jerseys, and a team set of the jerseys will be auctioned off by the Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation.

The Rising Stars Academy is a co-ed program that provides skill development for hockey players of color. The Capitals launched Rising Stars in 2023, and the program is funded by the Capitals Impact Fund.
