Caps Honor Brooks Orpik for 1,000 Games

Before Friday’s matchup against the New York Islanders, the Caps honored Brooks Orpik for playing in his 1,000th game. The tribute video was front-loaded with Penguins, including Sidney Crosby, who Caps fans promptly booed. Jay Beagle and Eddie Vedder also made appearances.
Nicklas Backstrom and Alex Ovechkin then joined Orpik, his wife and daughters and presented him with a gift – a trip to Canyon Point, Utah. We had to double check that the trip wasn’t a practical joke, as if Backstrom and Ovi tried to come up with the one place that Orpik would hate.
I asked Brooks Orpik about #Utah:
ME: Is that a place that's close to your heart?
BROOKS: Uh, I think I've been once, so no. I know where it is…it's a pretty cool spot. So, it'll be fun.

Orpik also received a Tiffany Crystal and a Silver Stick.
A fitting salute to an amazing player and even better person.
Congrats on 1,000 games, Brooks!#ALLCAPS #Orp1k pic.twitter.com/LuRK0cAzb8
