Penny the Bald Eagle Helps Drop Ceremonial Puck

Before the Caps game against the Wild on Friday, the team brought out alumni Peter Bondra, Calle Johansson, and Olaf Kolzig for the ceremonial puck drop, along with a special guest: Penny, the eagle. The eagle came to celebrate the team wearing their new ‘screagle’ jerseys.

According to WJLA, ‘Penny is a rescue eagle from the American Eagle Foundation, which is a non-profit wildlife conservation group that is dedicated to guarding and protecting the national bird.’
