Celebrating Alex Ovechkin’s 32nd Career Hat Trick
Alex Ovechkin scored his 32nd career hat trick and 882nd career goal on Sunday in a 7-3 win against Edmonton, pulling within 13 goals of having the all-time NHL record.
It was Ovechkin’s second hat trick of the season, and team-leading 29th goal.
Ovechkin also scored on Calvin Pickard, the 181st goalie that he’s scored on.
With the game-winning goal, Ovechkin tied Jaromir Jagr with 135 for most all-time.
His third goal was his 64th career empty netter, and he has 14 goals in 23 games since coming back from a broken leg in December.
“It’s nice to get a win, it’s nice to get a couple goals,” Ovi said after the game on TNT.
Only enough, his 32 hat tricks is only tied for 5th in NHL history, well behind Wayne Gretzky’s 50.
WHAT AN AFTERNOON FOR OVI 🤩
