When Alex Ovechkin scored his 809th career goal, longtime Caps fan Joe Galanick had an idea. We wouldn’t only create a custom Caps jersey, with “Gr8 Chase” on the nameplate, but he would swap out the jersey number every time Ovi scored another goal.
Galanick, who has been a Caps fan since 1988 and a season ticket holder since 1995, carries around with him several extra numbers for that very occasion.
As shown, it currently sits at 816, but it’s sure to change soon and Galanick will be prepared.
