Alex Ovechkin Gets 1,400th NHL Point

I GET 1400…. BEST>>>>)))))))) (Caps Outsider)

Alex Ovechkin has been setting several milestones a season in recent years, and on Wednesday he had yet another. With a first period goal against the Lightning, he notched his 1,400th career point.

He became the 21st player in NHL history to hit that mark, and will soon passĀ Dale Hawerchuk, who has 1,409. In fact, Ovi has a good chance to finish his career in the top ten, though almost all of those players were playmaking centers with lots of assists and far more games.

While Ovi climbing to No. 3 all-time on the goal-scoring list, and challenging for No. 1, is the coolest stat about him, it’s nice to see him among the greatest point scorers, as well.
