Tom Wilson Bobblehead Gets Its Long-Awaited Giveaway Date

The Tom Wilson bobblehead has been stranded longer than Hanks in Castaway.

For Halloween in 2015, Caps forward Tom Wilson dressed up as Wilson the Volleyball from Castaway (while teammate Michael Latta dressed up as Tom Hanks). In 2016, the Capitals held a vote for a stadium giveaway bobblehead, in which Braden Holtby won by a landslide. The other options were Justin Williams with his hair up high, and Wilson wearing his halloween costume. For the 2019-20 season, the Caps announced that Wilson would finally be getting that bobblehead, but Covid-19 changed things. Two season later, and about six years after the original costume, the Caps will be giving out the bobblehead on Oct. 27 against the Detroit Red Wings.

Other giveaways for the 2021-22 season include a John Carlson bobblehead, on March 22 against St. Louis, a schedule magnet on Oct. 13 against the New York Rangers, a  Caps themed holiday ugly sweater on Dec. 6 against Anaheim, and other traditional promotions throughout the year.

See the Caps’ promotion schedule for more details.
