Alex Ovechkin Passes Teemu Selanne on the All-Time Power Play Goal List

(Caps Outsider)

In an otherwise bad 6-4 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday, Alex Ovechkin did score a power play goal – his first on the PP in about a month – to pass Teemu Selanne for third place on the all-time power play goal list, with 256.

Ovechkin now trails only Brett Hull, with 265, and Dave Andreychuk, with 274, on the power play goal list.

Selanne is still a couple of goals ahead of Ovechkin on the all-time goals list – 684 to 682. Ovechkin will certainly be passing Selanne in a few games, and should end up with about 700 on the season.
