Fort Dupont’s Neal Henderson Honored in Puck Drop Ceremony
Before tonight’s battle of first place teams, Neal Henderson of the Fort Dupont Ice Arena was honored during the ceremonial puck drop. The local hero was greeted with loud cheers as he was introduced. Henderson was joined on the ice by Tim Thomas, Brian Gionta, and Krissy Wendell, fellow new inductees into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame. Henderson will be enshrined with the 2019 class at a ceremony held at the Marriott Marquis on December 12th.

Henderson is a legend in Washington Hockey for his work with the Fort Dupont Ice Hockey Club that he co-founded in 1978. Fort Dupont is the only full-size indoor ice arena in Washington, D.C., and the Fort Dupont Cannons are the oldest minority youth hockey program in North America.
We are so proud of everything Neal Henderson has done for our community and are thrilled he will head to the @usahockey Hall of Fame tomorrow with a ceremony right here in his hometown.
