Caps Honor Brett Connolly
Brett Connolly was only with the Capitals for a few seasons, but long enough to win a Stanley Cup and get a fat payday at the end of his contract. In his first return to Capital One Arena since signing with Florida, Connolly received a tribute video and a standing ovation from fans. Some fans even brought signs to welcome him back. He’d end up scoring Florida’s first goal in their 4-3 loss to the Caps.
Connolly is making $3,500,000 a year with the Panthers for the next four seasons, and currently leads them in goals.
