In what should be absolutely no surprise, Ovi O’s cereal has found its way to eBay.
Considering it’s a limited release cereal, and the fact that it’s not on every local Giant shelf yet, some money-grubbing folks have already stocked up on Alex Ovechkin’s cereal and posted their boxes on eBay. Prospective buyers include out-of-the-area Ovi fans, people who can’t wait for it to arrive at their local Giant, and idiots who want to spend more than the $2.69 price tag.
I hope to be proven wrong, but I don’t think Ovi O’s will be the next Caps Gravy Boat, which is still selling for upwards of $100 on eBay, mainly because… it’s cereal. That sorta stuff goes stale and isn’t suited for collectors.
The cheapest Buy it Now price is $13 plus shipping. The ones with bids are up to about $10.
I encourage people not to do this. But here’s the link to check it out. And a note to entrepreneurs out there: Don’t expect to make much by rushing out to Giant and selling your Ovi O’s on eBay. You’ll barely make enough to buy the handle of a Caps gravy boat.
