It only took Nick Jensen a few games to show us why trading for him was such an incredible move, and now it’s only taken him a few months to get himself a bobblehead. After 20 regular season games and 7 playoff games, we have already caught a glimpse of the defensemen that will likely bolster our top four for the duration of his four-year deal (inked moments after the Caps acquired him). Now, before even entering that contract, we will get to add him to the collection.
This isn’t uncommon with new players being quick to get immortalized as bobbleheads with Brooks Orpik, Matt Niskanen, TJ Oshie, etc. getting similar treatment. However, this will, again, take us down to slim pickings for the future. Players like Christian Djoos, Jonas Siegenthaler, Nic Dowd, and so on may be the next in line barring any big offseason signings. Maybe this is the year we finally see a Joe B and Locker bobblehead, but we won’t get too excited just yet.
The blood drive takes place on Saturday, July 27th from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at MedStar Capitals Iceplex in Arlington, Va. Donors can make an appointment now by calling 1-866-BLOODSAVES (1-866-256-6372) or by signing up online on the Inova Blood Donor Services website. All donors are asked to arrive at their scheduled appointment time.
