Nic Dowd Scores First Playoffs Penalty Shot in Caps History

Nic Dowd scored the fifth goal of the game Saturday, doing a Matt-Hendricks-like leg kick and scoring on Carolina goaltender Petr Mrazek.

According to the Caps, it was the first successful penalty shot in team history during the playoffs, on four total attempts. The last penalty shot they had was by Joe Juneau on April 24, 1996.
