Evgeny Kuznetsove just scored the overtime winner to defeat the Colorado Avalanche and celebrated in proper style. Kuznetsov had left the game in the 3rd period after being hit late by Ian Cole. The hit sparked a big fight, but left Evgeny hurting in the locker room. He came back to the bench and was given a prime opportunity with an overtime breakaway. He made no mistake, putting the shot past his countryman Semyon Varlamov. Then as he is known to do, Kuzy gave the Capitals faithful the celebration they crave, the Bird!
The goal was Kuznetsov’s 2nd of the game, and 12th of the season. After the game, Kuzy dropped an S-Bomb with Smokin’ Al Koken, “That’s huge you know. We know Tom play physical. he’s huge for us. When shit like that happen … it’s always nice to have guy like that on the team.” – He was referring to Wilson’s fight versus Ian Cole.
