Pheonix Copley, Brett Connolly, Nic Dowd and Chandler Stephenson hosted a party Wednesday at the MedStar Capitals Iceplex with Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation for 20 underserved families in the Washington D.C. area. This initiative was created by the Wizards 22 years ago. The party featured face painting, balloon shaping, cartoon drawings, a DJ and a visit from Santa. Kids and their families were happy to meet the players and dance with the Spirit Squad. Families took photos with the players and kids enjoyed playing street hockey with them.
The gifts donated were purchased on a Walmart shopping spree last month by the wives and girlfriends of the Caps and Wizards, which they will get in time for Christmas.
