Stingrays Week 21 Recap: Stone Cold Robbery

The South Carolina Stingrays dropped both games last week to the Idaho Steelheads. Despite this, the Stingrays can be no lower than the N0. 2 seed in the South Division come playoffs.

Thursday, the Stingrays fell 3-0 and then another 1-0 defeat on Friday. Steelhead goalie Tomas Sholl made a combined 60 saves throughout the two game series to keep the Stingrays offense at bay. Stingrays goaltenders Parker Milner and Jeff Jakaitis had 20 and 27 saves, respectively, in the losses.

Week ahead:

The Stingrays have a busy four game week that starts Monday night in Atlanta to face the Gladiators. The Rays then move on to face the Orlando Solar three straight games, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, in Orlando. All of the games will start at 7:00 expect Sunday which is a 1:30 start.

Standings:

While the Stingrays have locked up at least second place, the goal is still to catch the Florida Everblades. The Stingrays are seven points back of the Everblades, but they do have a game in hand. Including Monday’s game, the Stingrays have 11 games left in the season.
