What Happened to Alex Ovechkin’s Assists?

A History of Nicklas Backstrom’s Four-Assist Games

Original post:

Something relatively unusual happened Saturday night in Edmonton: Alex Ovechkin had three assists. Ovi putting up a lot of points isn’t odd, but his three assist games don’t happen too often – at least in recent years.

It’s the 12th time he’s done it in a regular season game, plus twice in the playoffs. He also did it in the 2015 All Star game. Once, he had four assists.
