It was all smiles for Hershey Bear fans today as the Chocolate and White got swept the weekend earning 6 of 6 points Sunday at Giant Center. Hershey capped off their weekend with a 3-2 over the St. John’s Ice Caps on Super Sunday. Fun fact from the AHL Twitter account, with today’s win, the Bears improved to 7-0-1-0 on Super Bowl Sundays.

Chandler Stephenson, Christian Djoos and Chris Bourque were responsible for all the Bears goals Sunday. Vitek Vanecek earned his first AHL point Sunday with an assist on the goal by Stephenson.

With the points earned this weekend, the Bears are four points in front of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The overall standings for the AHL are pretty telling on how tough the Atlantic Division is this season. Five of the top ten teams come from the Atlantic Division and out of the top five, four are from the division.

It seems like the Bears have found their groove again and will look to continue to earn points when they take on Wilkes-Barre/Scranton next Friday.
