Joel Ward (Caps Outsider)
For those of us still watching the playoffs but don’t know who to root for, a few former Caps have the chance to raise Lord Stanley.
There’s Joel Ward with the San Jose Sharks. Ward, nor the Sharks for that matter, has won a Cup.
There’s Troy Brouwer with the Blues. Though Brouwer won a championship with Chicago several years ago, the Blues have a worse Stanley Cup drought than the Caps. Though they went to three straight finals in their first three years of existence, they haven’t won or been back since 1970.
There’s Eric Fehr with the Penguins. Fehr is a very likable fellow, but he is, of course, with the Penguins.
The Tamps Bay Lightning don’t have any former Caps. Maybe root for them?
