This year, Hershey’s bobblehead giveaway moved a few months earlier than usual in deference to the upcoming Outdoor Classic.

With the highly anticipated game slated for January 20, Hershey fans got a sneak peak at the specialty jerseys on a pint-sized Coco the Bear.  For comparison, Keith Aucoin was conspicuously absent last season when his bobblehead was unveiled in late March.

Tonight’s tangle with the Worcester Sharks marks the start of a four game home stand for the Bears.

Worcester’s Jon Matsumoto scored the lone goal in the 5 round shootout.

Update: The Bears fell to the Sharks 4-3 in the shootout, despite holding a 3-1 lead at the end of the first period.  Goaltender Braden Holtby stopped four of five attempts in the shootout, and 31 of 34 shots during regulation & overtime.  Jeff Taffe extended his point streak to 6 games (8 points, all assists).  Cameron Schilling, Mike Carman, and Zach Hamill had Hershey’s three goals in regulation – all in the first period.

She was born in the Midwest, raised along the East Coast, and graduated from a university in Western Canada. A firm believer in context above all else, and a card-carrying on-ice official with USA Hockey, she splits her time between the big picture and the details.
