As of Thursday night, Nicklas Backstrom is the third Capital in the past two seasons to spend time atop the NHL’s scoring list. With two goals and eight assists, Backstrom leads all total point scorers with ten. He joins Alex Ovechkin and Alex Semin as the other Caps to look down on everyone else (Semin led the league early last season, and with two goals Thursday, Backstrom passed Ovie as the top points guy). However, Semin and Ovie are only a point behind him this season, as are two Sharks.
