Caps Auctioning Off Life-Sized Bobbleheads

For the Caps’ 50th anniversary, the team had three bobblehead giveaways, of Mike Gartner with Rod Langway, Peter Bondra with Olaf Kolzig, and Alex Ovechkin with Nicklas Backstrom. At each giveaway, the Caps unveiled giant bobbleheads of each of these guys, and they were put on display for fans at Capital One Arena.

Now, Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation (MSE Foundation) is hosting a Capitals Playoff Auction, and each of those bobbleheads are up for bid.

Other items up for bid are team-signed Caps Cherry Blossom jean jacket created by TKO Paintings, a Caps playoff jacket, an Alex Ovechkin player appearance-worn, autographed jersey, Ovechkin player-worn gloves, and a team signed 2025 Caps Canine Calendar. The auction will will conclude when the first round concludes. Proceeds benefit MSE Foundation community programming.

We should note that the Kolzig bobblehead was spotted broken at a game back in March. No word on whether it was fixed.

We expect the Ovechkin bobblehead to sell for more than $10,000.
