Tom Wilson Is An All-Star Again!

Caps forward Tom Wilson, who may or may not know the difference between an animal and a mammal, was selected to the NHL All-Star game. It’s his second selection, the first time being in 2022.

Wilson has 19 points (11 goals, 8 assists) in 36 games this season, is the Caps’ hit (107) and penalties drawn (19) leader. His goals tend to lead to victories, as they’re 7-1-1 when he scores. He also tends to lead the team in penalty minutes and fights sometimes.

Since making his NHL regular-season debut on Oct. 1, 2013, Wilson ranks sixth in the NHL in hits (2,146) and leads Capitals forwards in blocked shots (430). Wilson ranks third in franchise history in penalty minutes (1,369)).

Wilson, Washington’s first-round pick (16th overall) in the 2012 NHL Draft, has recorded 314 points (139g, 175a) in 716 career games with the Capitals. Among his draft class, Wilson ranks third in games played, fifth in goals and seventh in points.

Congratulations, Tom!

NHL All-Star Weekend will take place on Feb. 1-3 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.

Now, let’s watch him use his grill:

And now, let’s watch him and the Caps talk about which animals they’re afraid of.
