John Carlson, already the Caps’ all-time leading scorer among defenseman, notched his 500th career point on Thursday, scoring the Caps’ third goal of the game against Philadelphia.
While he also has more assists than other Caps defensemen in their history, he’s got a ways to go to become the top goal-scorer, as he’s 38 behind Kevin Hatcher, who has 149.
Carlson is the third-fastest defenseman to 500 points among active players, behind San Jose’s Erik Karlsson and Pittsburgh’s Kris LeTang.
