U.S. congressman and civil rights leader from Georgia, John Lewis, died at 80 on Friday. He had been battling pancreatic cancer for more than six months.

Lewis attended the Feb. 26, 2019 Capitals game, with Willie O’Ree – the first black player in the NHL – to drop the ceremonial puck during Black History Month. Notice that he’s wearing number 65, representing 1965, a crucial year in the civil rights movement.
