Alex Ovechkin scored his 668th and 669th goal of his career on Tuesday, giving the Caps a 4-3 overtime win against Toronto and pushing him past longtime L.A. King Luc Robitaille for 12th place on the all-time goal-scoring list.
The next up for Ovi to pass is Teemu Selanne, who has 684 career goals. After that, Ovi should be able to quickly pass three more players – Mario Lemieux (690), Steve Yzerman (692) and Mark Messier (694).
We’re predicting that Ovi will pass 700 this season, which will put him in 8th place to end the season. Early next season, he’ll be passing former Cap Mike Gartner, who has 708.
