The Athletic’s Pierre LeBrun reported the Caps have signed Garnet Hathaway to a four-year contract worth an AAV of $1.5M. The Caps have officially signed him to the deal.
Hathaway, 27, had 11 goals and eight assists for 19 points in 76 games for Calgary.

Hathaway will slot into the Caps fourth line for next season. His possession numbers are not the best, with a 49.5 cross for percentage, but he started just above 51 percent of his shifts in the defensive zone. Hathaway will likely be a key part for the Capitals penalty kill unit.
