Bears Escape With 1-0 Victory Over Penguins
Garrett Pilon the hero with the overtime goal. Vanecek with 17 saves and a shutout.

The Hershey Bears (35-22-3-4) face off against the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins (30-24-6-3) for the final time in the regular season. The Bears have taken control of the season series this year, going 8-2-0-1 so far.
In the race for the playoffs, Hershey currently sits in 3rd place with 77 points while WBS sits in 5th place at 69 points. Both teams looking for important points as the season comes closer to an end.
Starting in net for Hershey was Vitek Vanecek while WBS started Tristan Jarry.
1st Period:
Hershey dominated the period but no real solid scoring chances in the first period.

WBS had a great opportunity early in the period. Vitek Vanecek was left alone with Ryan Haggerty who was skating in for a breakaway. Vanecek pulled through to keep the game tied at 0-0.
Bears were rewarded with a couple of power plays but Tristin Jarry was solid with his positioning and made the saves.

After multiple attempts to score, Hershey could not get the puck across the goal line. Tristin Jarry had 15 saves just in the third period alone. Here is one of the better ones:

Overtime:
Waiting patiently for a play to develop, Mike Sgarbossa dropped the puck off to Garrett Pilon. Pilon swung around the top of the circle and fired the puck top corner and past Tristin Jarry. This was the game winning goal and Pilon’s 10th goal of the season.
