Penguins Pay Tribute to Carl Hagelin

(via the Caps)

The Penguins welcomed back former player and current Cap Carl Hagelin on Tuesday with a tribute video, as he made his first return to the Igloo since leaving Pittsburgh.

Hagelin played briefly with the L.A. Kings in between Pittsburgh and Washington.

I can’t say for sure but considering what Hagelin did for Pittsburgh in four seasons, especially while winning two Stanley Cups, he’ll be as loved there as Jay Beagle will be loved in Washington.

But let’s not get too sentimental here, as having a former Cap-killer on the team might feel fine while it’s happening but could be ‘meh’ in the long run. Think: Jaroslav Halak. Hagelin still has plenty to prove with the Caps, but so far, so good, and it’s nice to see a current Cap is still highly regarded of by his former team.
