Evgeny Kuznetsov Bobblehead Giveaway

The Washington Capitals announced today that the Evgeny Kuznetsov bobblehead that will be given away on Tuesday, March 26 against the Hurricanes will be in the pose of him doing his bird celebration.

That, in general, is cool, other than we’ve seen that already, and many of us already own a very high quality version of that from Forever Collectibles. It’s still for sale, in fact, on their site (no offense to the stadium giveaways, but the FOC versions are higher quality).

Even before FOCO’s version, our buddy at Bobblehouse made a prototype of this, so this would be the third version we’ve seen.

In defense of the Caps, what else would an Evgeny Kuznetsov bobblehead be doing that we haven’t already seen? Holding the Cup? Got that one. Maybe this won’t even be the final bobblehead of Kuzy’s birdman celebration, but one of several to be released over the course of the rest of his career, each one with his arms arched at slightly different angles. (I’d also like to point out that this pose is far superior to the Kuzy figurine with the rotating arm).

Considering there was little else Kuzy could be doing in a bobblehead pose that would draw interest, kudos to the Caps for at least making it slightly different. This one is in his home red and has no helmet. So, there’s that. No word on whether the Caps’ Kuzy has bobblin’ arms. UPDATE: Arms don’t bobble.

This game will sell out and Caps fans who attend and get their Kuzy bobble will go home happy, regardless of the result. That said, it’s clear that we’ve been so spoiled with bobbleheads as of late that ideas are running low.

This will be the 14th bobblehead given away at Caps games, and the first for Kuzy. See the entire list here.
