Andre Burakovsky Stanley Cup Bobblehead Review

(Caps Outsider)

The Washington Capitals are Stanley Cup Champions and that means one thing… WE GET BOBBLEHEADS! As we detailed already, there are going to be 24 Stanley Cup-themed bobbleheads, produced by FOCO, available come September. Since that’s still a ways away we thought it would be fun to spend that time taking a closer look at each bobblehead included in this lineup.

Andre Burakovsky started off this season assuming a prominent role in the Capitals top six forward unit. However, he struggled to keep that spot from a combination point droughts and injuries, that caused him to miss almost 30 regular season games, and entered into the playoffs on a low point. His woes continued when he suffered yet another injury in the playoffs that required surgery and would keep him out most of the first and all of the second round of the playoffs. Finally, after returning from that injury, he broke seven game pointless drought in what may have been one of the most important games in Washington Capitals history. After forcing a game seven in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Capitals were one win away from going to the big dance. Andre came into his own that night and netted two goals in a 4-0 routing of the Lightning that would take the Capitals to their first Stanley Cup Final in the Alex Ovechkin era.

Poor Andre struggled not only on the scoresheet but with the playoff beard, as well. His playoff beard was more neckbeard than facial beard and this bobblehead sadly made sure to capture that. Facially, I think that he’s got kind of a dopey smile that only Andre would have but, the face a little wider than his is in real life.

You can order this, and many others, from the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum.
