T.J. Oshie Scores on Bobblehead Night

T.J. Oshie has been looking forward to his bobblehead night for a few weeks, and recently told fans, “It’s going to be the best bobblehead you’ve ever seen!” He has received the bobble treatment in Washington before, but this time his ceramic likeness is striking an epic goal celebration pose, and wearing his Stadium Series jersey. Sponsored by Capital One, Oshie’s bobblehead was the full-arena giveaway at this evening’s game against the Dallas Stars. Check it out below.

So how did Oshie celebrate his new goal celebration commemorating bobblehead? By scoring a goal of course. And how did he celebrate that goal? By imitating his bobblehead to complete the circle. It’s a case of art imitating sport, and then sport imitating art.

After the game Oshie was asked about the celebration, which embarrassingly was caught by the television camera. He meant for it to be a special moment between himself and Tom Wilson, who has his own special place in Capitals bobblehead history.

Oshie has been enduring a tough season, but has come alive recently with 4 goals and 5 points in his last 4 games. Maybe Papa’s bobblehead is good luck?

It looks like Lauren is going to need a new one after her kids destroyed papa’s bobblehead. Hopefully Oshie is able to secure a few extras to keep his mojo going.
