Caps Go for Three Straight

After shutting out the Colorado Avalanche 3-0 on Tuesday, the Capitals are traveling south to take on the Florida Panthers.

The Panthers are missing both Nick Bjugstad and Jonathan Huberdeau due to an injury. Neither have played a game yet this season. Despite this, the Panthers are 2-0-1, losing in a shootout to Tampa 4-3 on Tuesday.

Something to look for is how the third line fares. The third line still hasn’t scored. I would not be surprised if we see Zach Sanford back in the lineup. However, Barry Trotz has elected to keep the same lineup from Tuesday. Zanford will be scratched along with Taylor Chorney. Chorney has not yet played. He shined in the preseason, but has remained relativity quiet in his first two NHL games.

Another fun trend to watch is to see if a Caps player scores two goals in the game. So far, in every game played, a Capital player has scored twice. My prediction is for Justin Williams to score twice. Once on the power play in the slot, and once on a rebound by getting to the front of the net.

Braden Holtby is expected to start in net.
